About ten years ago, I saw a picture of a beautiful town on the French Riviera. Perched on a rocky hillside, with sherbet coloured buildings along the hillsides and reaching down to the waterfront, it immediately captured my imagination. This village was called Villefranche sur Mer, I discovered. About eight years later I found myself there finally- and it was everything I imagined... a quiet refuge from the hustle and bustle of Nice next door, friendly relaxed people, cute restaurants where you could eat delicious fresh seafood right on the waters edge, flowering bougainvillea and oleanders, and the sparkling Mediterranean Sea... heaven on earth! This is where I saw this little fishing boat, every time I look at this photo I’m reminded of this little town I hope I can return to one day.
